COLORES|The Art Of Getting Older|New Mexico PBS

www.knme.org – KNME concentrates on the work of the older artist, how his perception grows with age and how his work modifications.

The piece includes the work of several popular New Mexicans painters, Frederick Hammersley and Wilson Hurley, architect, George Pearl, and carvers, Charles Mattox and Florence Pierce.

Hammersley and Hurley both mention a knowledge that includes age and a yearning to constantly improve one’s work.

Mattox discusses an inevitable wisdom that features age; it is this side to growing older as an artist that he states improves his perception of the world and his imaginative action to it.

Pierce, meanwhile is a lady in love with her art. She mentions having a double mentality from which to obtain motivation, the side of her that has actually stayed ignorant, thrilled and enthusiastic, and the side of her that has actually changed with life experience.

George Pearl speaks about the different paths his work has actually taken control of time; he is aiming always for a better item.
