Item Photography

Item Photography

Shooting products can be a challenging and fulfilling experience, from food to accessories, each scenario requires a somewhat various method.

To all professional photographers out there wanted to try item photography, here are some fast ideas that might help out.

Gear
To begin with, use a good lens, I utilize 70-200mm or 24-70mm, as these tend to be more flexible. Likewise a tripod can be convenient for stability.

Get some brightness
The first thing you’re going to require is a white background, majority are shot versus WBG to take any interruptions away. You might use white sheets, white documents shot on high shutter.

Lights
Lighting is pretty crucial, the idea is to get the item equally lit to avoid harsh shadows, you may establish in a room with bright lights.

Framing
Basic structures tend to work much better with items, so try to get on the same level, and zoom in to get as much as possible.

Post Process
Processing your images afterwards can be practically as important as taking the images; there is constantly at least a little degree of processing. Eliminate dust areas, get rid of noise, increase direct exposure if required, tweak white balance, color boost/change contrast if necessary and sharpen. You’ll most likely discover you might spend as much time processing as you do taking the pictures.

Real settings I used ranges from f/16 to f/18 at 200-250 sec exposure utilizing Westcott Strobelite 150WS Lightings with soft box positioned on top of the item.

Delight in!

Beyond Borders: The Next Frontier in Global Ecommerce

The rapid growth of ecommerce has transformed the retail experience, moving consumers away from traditional brick-and-mortar stores to a global digital marketplace providing greater access to new products and better pricing. Cross-border buying and selling is also being fueled by a rapid rise in retail sales driven by social media. By 2020, China will become the world’s largest market for selling products online, and global ecommerce sales are expected to double to some US $4 trillion. How can businesses guarantee consumer safety as more and more customers purchase foreign products online? How are retail brands and SME’s using ecommerce technologies and best practices to grow their international presence and increase profits? What challenges lie ahead as ecommerce takes hold across Asia and other emerging markets?

Quickly Linked

The function of this image is to demonstrate how e-commerce has made the world appear that much smaller. I know that I have ordered books that have actually shown up from Japan but that range doesn’t matter since of the convenience of being able to purchase things from the comfort of your home. Bottom line, the range doesn’t matter.
