We were filled with interest when Adidas asked to develop a commercial for their brand-new product Climaheat. Even more amazing is that the video was set to appear all over the world from England, Russia to China and Korea. Additionally, we got the chance to combine the two disciplines we love most: live action and motion graphics.
We collaborated with the creative team of Adidas to produce a commercial that would present the Climaheat’s coat and sweater for an online international project, including Climaheat as the best in class winter season performance product.
We wished to discover a balance in between discussing the actual technological advantage of the products but at the exact same time providing it an inspirational story. The very first instructions we performed by taking a trip through the actual materials and describing its function in the type of a tech render such as the ‘Heat Seals.’
We chose to give the set a nighttime urban feel, rotated with a mountain look. The runner in the story occurs in a city setting who is running along old brick walls that are leading lit. The dark high key lighting from surrounding lampposts makes the look complete. The hiker is set in a snowy mountain with a brief view. We see him strolling through high snow and wind strikes his jacket.
The area for shooting the product remained in the Bruynzeel barracks where we build up a city and simulated a snowstorm.
